On Sunday, 26th October, Cambiotics and DTU Sustain co-hosted the Danish screening of the acclaimed documentary How to Poison a Planet at Cinemateket in Copenhagen. The event brought together researchers, students, journalists, and citizens to explore one of today’s most pressing environmental and public health challenges: PFAS pollution.
Following the screening, a panel discussion featured Anders Baun, Director of the Danish PFAS Research Center and Head of Section at DTU Sustain, and Kiran Patil, Professor of Molecular Systems Biology and Investigator at the MRC Toxicology Unit, University of Cambridge.
The conversation delved into the science and policy behind PFAS contamination, emphasizing the urgent need for stronger accountability, clearer regulation, and innovative solutions to mitigate “forever chemical” exposure.
How to Poison a Planet powerfully documents how decades of industrial production and limited transparency have contributed to a global PFAS crisis, highlighting why continued research, collaboration, and public awareness are essential to drive change.
